India is home to one of the largest populations of blind and vision-impaired individuals in the world. According to the National Institute of Health (NIH), an estimated 4.95 million people in India are blind, and 70 million suffer from vision impairment. Alarmingly, this includes 240,000 blind children, whose futures are at risk if their conditions remain untreated.
At KLKI, we are determined to bridge this gap. As a Pan-India registered NGO, our mission is to bring light into the lives of those who cannot afford essential eye care. Through our Vision Restoration Initiative, we aim to:
- Provide free eye check-ups to underprivileged individuals, focusing on early detection of conditions like cataracts.
- Facilitate eye surgeries, including corneal transplants, to restore sight.
- Offer corrective treatments for eye deformities, ensuring a better future for those affected.
This initiative directly addresses the pressing need to reduce the prevalence of blindness in India, particularly among vulnerable populations.
Project Budget and Progress
This project’s estimated budget is ₹6,00,000, which will cover the cost of eye screenings, surgeries, transplants, and post-operative care. So far, we have raised ₹1,15,000 through donations from kind-hearted supporters. With your generous help, we are confident that we can achieve our goal and transform the lives of countless individuals across the nation.
Why Your Support Matters
Your contribution to KLKI is not just a donation—it is an investment in someone’s ability to see the world again. Together, we can give hope, dignity, and independence to those who have been deprived of sight due to poverty and lack of access to healthcare.
Join us in this journey to create a brighter future for the visually impaired.
